Aupair - Live In Nanny

Rockmybaby® can provide your family with a live-in nanny . A live-in nanny normally works full time hours, they live with your family in your home or they are provided with a separate flat/studio. Whether you are looking for a live in nanny job or looking to hire a live in nanny, Rockmybaby® is here to help with everything you need to know about establishing a successful placement.

Au Pair Expectations

  • They will have their own bedroom and usually their own bathroom or this can be shared with the children. It’s important for an au pair to have their own space, maybe TV, access to Wifi.
  • Generally work between 10 - 12 hours per day, five days a week.
  • Live in nanny can be contracted to babysit 1-2 nights per week.
  • Live in nanny primary role is to care for the children, not heavy housework. Please view our Household staff page if you require a live in Housekeeper.
  • They are expected to untake all child related duties.
  • Taking your child to playgroups, school and other activities such as sport.
  • Washing and organising your child's clothes throughout the working week.
  • A live-in nanny may have her own car or be provided with a car to transport children when out and about. Please ensure your nanny is included on your car insurance if he/she is driving your car.

What are the benefits?

  • Help and support - an au pair gives busy families an 'extra pair of hands' around the home. Not only does an au pair provide dedicated (one-on-one) childcare, but they also help with other household duties.
  • Convenience and flexibility.
  • Affordable.
  • Cultural experience for your family. As well as childcare, light housework forms part of the au pair's tasks. Light housework consists of anything to do with the children of the host family. Depending on the age of the children, the au pair should help them with things like tidying up their room. Other than this, the au pair supports the family, for example, with the following housework: Washing dishes / loading and unloading the dishwasher Now and then: cleaning, sweeping, dusting/ hoovering Doing the children's washing and putting it away Ironing (not including difficult items of clothing like shirts and blouses) Making the children's beds Tidying the children's rooms Doing a little bit of shopping If necessary, looking after pets Emptying the rubbish
